” Finding a spot for a pre-game bite and a drink on the night of the Ottawa Redblack’s ( sold out ) home opener I knew could be a challenge.  Large crowds all around.  But the two of us were able to grab a table at Irene’s Pub.  Within a reasonable amount of time we got menus.  The place was certainly bustling.  We put in our orders.  Two of the nights specials.  Fish and Chips, and the Redblack Burger.  Two beers to go with.

I was impressed that the drinks came speedily and the food shortly there after.  I ordered the burger and it was very good.  The fries were also good.  The nice touch is the house made ketchup.  It is very tasty and has a subtle spiciness.  My buddy from out of town liked the fish n chips and was really impressed by the slaw, nice mix of crunchy veg and also a subtle spiciness too.

The beer selection is quite perfect and several local craft brews on tap as well as the standard mix.

We got in and out in time to get to the stadium and the food was great and resonably priced. All around thumbs up! ”

Absolutely everything you want in a neighbourhood pub. Excellent beer. Excellent food. Welcoming service. The buzz of people around you. Single best pub experience I've had in Canada.

Food is always good if a little overpriced for the portions. Atmosphere is always great, art on the wall is very nice. Go for trivia night!

Always a great place for good concerts, good food and good beer. The place is nice and the service is good. Definately a good place for concerts and music, a very nice venue on Bank Street.

Nice place, friendly people. Chairs and seating isn't the greatest or long-term comfortable. But the food is always solid, usually some good specials on the menu too. Certainly worth dropping in for a drink and a meal.
