McGees Inn

Walk through the Inn and you will see the fruits of their labour.

Wow, McGee’s Inn… The dining room features part of Ken’s Norman Rockwell collection; including the “Four Freedoms” posters. The parlour features the works of Canadian artist Walter Campbell and a collection of antique cameras. The highlight is a player piano that’s been in the family for generations.

” We stayed there over Canada Day yet again. I can’t say enough good things. The room was fantastic, the Inn is very close to Parliament Hill and the Market, and the food was great. ”

” Mcgee’s Inn, friend recomended it, love’d it. Well maintained, clean and welcoming. Some of the rooms are historic, some furnished with antiques, but all are great accommodations.

The main rooms are comfortable and to sit in the parlor and read.
The breakfasts are excellent! The best crepes around! And the fruit, sausage and maple syrup are all locally sourced. ”

McGees Inn is convenient to Byward Market and downtown, great museums and Parliament. Most are easily walkable too!

Climb the staircase and you’ll find more collections and antiques, including a manual typewrite, adding machine and even a spinning wheel. Each of the 14 rooms have been individually decorated. The Egyptian Room and the Victorian Suite each feature a double jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The John McGee Room is decorated with interesting antiques and also features a fireplace. On the top floor is the Windsor Room with a four poster canopy bed and a bathroom that includes a combination double whirlpool tub and shower with a built in TV.

” McGees Inn is old Victorian, The house that is a feast for the eyes everywhere you look. It is filled with antiques and interesting Oddities. You could spend hours just looking at the walls as you go up and down the stairs. Don’t know if were supposed to, but the unbooked rooms are left with the doors open so we were able to peek inside the other rooms that were not occupied. Each room is entirely unique and worth a trip to the building just to see them. It’s a three floor building and there is no elevator however, found the rooms, worth it. Booked the Victoria Suite which comes with a working fireplace and a jetted hot tub big enough for two.  A lovely little ante-room and a king size bed. There is no restaurant, per se, but there is a bar fridge in the room. The breakfast is also included it will get ya started. McGees Inn is a short distance from the Rideau Centre and the market and set in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. ”

McGees Inn is always up on thier blogs and are fun, have a look Here.
