Ottawa Little Theatre

Ottawa Little Theatre has been a vital part of the Ottawa arts community since 1913, making it the longest continuously producing community theatre in Canada, and one of the oldest in North America. With a 386-seat auditorium, and a fully licensed lobby, over 800,000 tickets are sold to OLT’s plays each season.

OLT has produced well over 1,000 plays in its history. All directors, designers, actors, and stage and front of house crew are volunteers.

Ottawa Little Theatre has a long and illustrious history, and many of the actors who have stood on the OLT stage have gone on to successful careers in film and television, and continue to do so!

This is a lovely venue and presents great theater. I always enjoy the plays here. The venue is fully accessible and there is lots of paid and street parking close by.

A great community theatre! I’ve seen many plays and volunteered in multiple roles. Amazing place.

Inviting, friendly, open. I enjoyed the careful attention of staff. Seating, lighting, sightlines are all good. The "Romantic Comedy" had great characters that were well played. Perpetual smile with a few out loud laughs.

We have recently been to three plays at the Ottawa Little Theatre, and they have all been excellent. The staging was exceptional - in the most recent play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, the use of boxes to become seats on a train, a ticket counter, chairs, and, in one case, boxes(!) - OK, that last one was really suitcases - was inspired. All the actors performed to a professional level, especially the lead actor playing Christopher. Highly recommended.

We watched Hilda's Yard last weekend and it was great. The cast was excellent and the play was very funny. The staff at the theater were very polite. The bottled water was very cheap for a venue ($2) and I had a rum and coke which was affordable as well ($6). The tickets for the play were $30 each, so for a date night we got a show with a few drinks for less than $100. I hope that doesn't make me sound too cheap lol
